Stress & Anxiety Support

Going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment can be a stressful and anxious time for both the patient and their loved ones. Stress, anxiety and worry can also have a negative impact on our sleep and can cause unwelcome disruption to our lives. There are things that we can do to help manage stress and anxiety and we hope these resources are of help.

MacMillan Cancer Support
MacMillan Cancer Support has lots of resources which help to explain and manage the anxiety associated with a cancer diagnosis. A good place to start is their 'Impacts of cancer - anxiety' page. They also have a downloadable booklet called 'How are you feeling - the emotional aspects of cancer' which is very helpful.

Stress Management Society
The Stress Management Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping individuals and companies recognise and reduce stress and they have lots of free resources to help you understand and combat your stress.
We especially like their 'Stress Bridge' video which explains what stress is and how you can spot the signs of stress in yourself and others.
