This soothing gel beads eye mask can be cooled in the fridge or heated in the microwave and is ideal for soothing tired eyes from radiotherapy induced fatigue as well as the general stresses and strains that cancer brings. Oatsoak Colloidal Oatmeal - 100g

Another common side effect of radiotherapy treatment is sore skin. Colloidal oatmeal has been used for centuries as a treatment for itchy, dry or irritated skin and has been clinically proven as beneficial for radiotherapy skincare. This colloidal oatmeal can be added to warm bath water as a relaxing natural soak which will soothe dry and inflamed skin from radiotherapy treatment. Providing deep moisturisation, it is a natural skin cleanser and also helps to create a protective layer. Single serving.

Patients may feel nauseous during radiotherapy treatment either from the treatment itself or from the nausea that accompanies the treatment. Mint is well known for easing nausea and we’ve specifically chosen Peppersmith  Peppermint flavoured mints because they contain Xylitol. Sucking Xylitol mints can help to relieve a dry mouth that many people experience when undergoing radiotherapy treatment to the head or neck area.

For centuries, colloidal oatmeal has been used to treat a range of skin problems, including dry skin, itchiness, rashes, and eczema (atopic dermatitis).

 

Colloidal oatmeal is finely ground oats (Avena sativa) mixed into lotions, creams or bathwater. It's an emollient, which means it softens and soothes the skin.

 

This 2016 study was the first to recognise colloidal oatmeal as a skincare approach in the radiotherapy setting.  The sudy recognises the potential benefits of colloidal oatmeal in treating radiotherapy induced skin reactions.
